The NatGenCrop project was presented during the 6th Balkan Conference on BioSciences on 30-31.10.2025 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Researchers from Department Crop Quantitative Genetics took part in the 6th Balkan Conference on Biosciences, organized by the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” and the Institute of Molecular Biology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The topics of the conference included sustainable agriculture, green and digital transformation, agri-food systems and bioeconomy, environmental and climate protection, genetics and cell biology, molecular biology and bioinformatics, microbiology and biotechnology, and more.

Results from NatGenCrop were presented by Dr. Nikolay Anachkov with the poster “Multi-Omics Analysis Highlights Genetic Regions Impacting Tomato Fruit Quality Under Drought Stress”, as well as Gabrielle Adornato and Michael Wittenberg with the lectures “Integrated genome-wide association and QTL mapping elucidate the genetic basis of gray mold resistance in tomato” and “Drought protective metabolites in Capsicum annuum and their biosynthetic control”, respectively.
